11's here with a stock tranny. Never been rebuilt but I installed a transgo shift kit and 29,000 trans cooler. I believe it's the largest b&m tranny cooler. It's made for huge trucks towing stuff lol. Seems to be working fine as of now. I just decided to upgrade my rear so I can feel confident doing wheelies but now I don't know how long the trannys gonna hold that kind of abuse. It is possible to get your stock tranny to last in the 11s and I think some even make it to the 10s.

I'm destroying fully "built" 4L60's with alarming regularity using a stock motor and only a couple of bolt-ons. My last "built" one made less than 100 drag strip passes before destroying itself. I guess big converters coupled with a really heavy car don't help. If you drag race, this isn't the tranny for you. Sorry. Just my opinion of course. I'm sure there are those that have had no problems but I've had nothing but problems. I'm running 7.40's in the 1/8th with a 1.57 60' time and a raceweight of 3700 pounds. Maybe this is the problem. Heavy car + big converter + really good hooking tires = destroyed 4L60e tranny. That's how the equation has worked for me.

The only time I changed it was when I installed my converter. 16,000+ miles ago. The fluid still looks great so I havn't touched it. Usually leave the line between 2,800-3,200 depending on track conditions.

Oh well, I have all winter to work on it now.
