01 Z06 ls6 Valve Train Questions
Guys, do these have the hollow/sodium filled intake and exhaust valves like the 02 and up do? Do you know the weight difference between them and the stock ls1 valves? Also, is the stock installed height 1.8" like the rest of the ls1 world or are their valve stems longer? Thanks.

6mm comes out to .236" so I assume the z06 has a taller spring seat to keep the same 1.8ish installed height. Oh well, guess we'll just have to find out.
Does anyone know if the 01 z06 valve are lighter at all or heavier then the stock ls1 valves?

If you get Sodium-filled Ls6 valves (which I THINK are longer) then you have to get shorter pushrods...7.35 I think (7.40 are stockers...)
Agian, don't quote me on the fact that light-zo6 vlaves are longer....but that's what I heard....

stupid gm..they never get something right the first time.
Edit: i just called my local chevy dealer and asked them to cross reference part numbers for the valves between a 2001 and 2002 LS6.
He came back with this info
"all intake and exhaust valves from 99-04 have the same parts numbers for LS1 and LS6"
wtf?
i think it's time to start e-mailing or calling engine builders that have torn these motors apart on a consistant basis.

I called another Chevy dealer and this guy had some different information. He sounded annoyed so i didnt want to bother him any further..
he just gave me price differences
2001 LS6 valve 36 dollars
2002 LS6 valve 89 dollars
and he confirmed that the part numbers were different though i didn't ask him for them.
Then i asked about the difference between the 2001 Ls1 and 2001 Ls6 valve.
he said they are !!!!(put me on hold for 5 minutes then he hung up )

Whoever posted that the Z06 valves are 6mm longer could you reverify your information please.
I just went out to the garaged and measured my 2002-up Z06 valves and yes they are longer, but by 0.76mm or around .030" and not the 6mm posted. I thought that sounded like too much of a difference.
Again the difference I just measured was 0.76mm
so not enough to make a lot of difference.
