The '02 LS6 valves are longer because the base circle on the cam is smaller and they needed the longer valve to make up the difference for preload. They figured it would be cheaper to make a longer valve since they were changing them anyway than to make a longer pushrod.

Ok guys, shoot me, 0.6 mm (the . escaped).
If you run LS1 cam with LS6 (02>04) valves, you'll need 7.375 p-rods, 7.40's too much preload, 7.35's too noisy (I ran those previously, then went with .045 Cometic and it was fine).
