Default Kooks worth the money?

I was orginaly going to buy the kooks set up but the more I think about it I can use the extra money on something else if I go with another brand. Pacesetters would be my seconed choice but who makes there catted y pipe? However I dont like buying cheaper stuff but is it worth spending all the money for kooks. I have heard that coated headers tend to peal and over time look bad. Appreciate the feedback.

Go with the QTPs. Stainless as well but are not having the QC problems that Kooks is having now.

I have kooks, after 2 years they look new/weekend driver.QTPs are exactly the same and from pictures I've seen even the tubing supplier is the same.Pacesetters would be my last choice, hookers would be 2nd after QTP/kooks.JMHO.

how could there be quality control issues and is the kooks/QTP prices so much higher because of the stainless?

There are no QC problems.

One person -- ONE ******* PERSON -- is raising all kinds of hell because of a customer service problem (sounds like he had trouble communicating to me). He lives in Hawaii and got sent one header with emissions. He's having a time getting it sent back and replaced on their buck. He wants to bring everyone down for it and users on this board like Order 66 are letting him slander two SPONSOR companies with great reps and get away with it.

Kook's reputation is spotless. They, along with QTP, make the best headers and have the best service. Don't listen to one person while toning out the thousands. That's just stupid.

Go with whichever is cheaper, Kooks or QTPs. I just bought a set of used QTPs off this board.

I've read hundreds of posts in which everyone was very pleased with QTP or Kooks headers.

My Kooks headers and catted y-pipe should arrive next week. I think I got a pretty good deal, $1,188, no tax, free shipping. I'll let everyone know how it works out when I find the time to install them. I don't anticipate any problems.

Well this one person bought 2 sets of Kooks $2200 worth of headers and y-piipe from 2 different places.

And if we didn't bitch the problem would not have gotten fixed, I tried to not bring it to the board, so go youself

Also,I don't know about the other brands but the install on my kooks was the easiest set I ever did.On the lift I stood them straight up and they went right into place, never removed anything unnecessary

My Kooks were perfect. Easy install too. I've had them on and off about 4 times in the last 8 months.

i got my kooks and catted y last march and the only problem i had was the passenger side header was not reduced so it would not slip over the y-pipe, just had to drop by the local muffler shop and they did it for me in less than a minute.
tucks up nicely, which was a main concern bc my car is lowered, but i might have only hit the cats once.
