Default Looking at a WS6

I have been looking at a silver 2000 WS6. Its got all black leather interior, and is a 6spd. It has 63,000 miles. the car is bone stock. I've sat in the car and heard it run. The interior is perfect. The motor is extremely dirty. It didn't appear to be leaking anything. I'm going back Tuesday for a test drive. Is there anything LS1 or Trans Am specific I should look for that would cost me some cash in the future?

One thing that I did notice was that it had the Monsoon sound, but it only had a tape player.

if its at a dealership ask if you can talk to the previous owner. check all fluids, air filter- to see if general maintenance has been kept up, and ask if it has been in a wreck. good luck

Have it checked through CARFAX. There is a sticky on top of this section for CARFAX requests.

Thanks guys. The car is 40 minutes away from here. I'm going to grab the vin and give the car a serious look over when I go Tuesday. I'll look for that cd changer in the trunk. Hopefullly everything checks out ok on it.

turn off the radio when you test drive it, tell the sales guy to shut up for awhile so you can hear everything. and turn the wheel completely to the left and just idle along to feel if the tight turn is smooth, repeat on the other side. My dad always does this when he checks the suspension out.

Take the car, going about 35, push the clutch in, hands off the wheel ( inch above it, so you can grab it if need be ) and brake, see if it brakes in a straight line.

Thanks guys. I'm mechanically inclined, so its not like I'll be in the dark on this. I just wanted to check and make sure that the LS1 Trans Ams didn't have any kind of major thing that is commonly overlooked. I'm really pumped about this car. It's a big improvement over my rustang.
