Red Line rear end fluid

Red Line rear end fluid
I just bought 3.73 gears and am now currently breaking them in. After the 500 miles I was wondering if Red Line is a good choice for rear end fluid. Thanks

Most differential manufacturers seem to discourage the use of synthetic gear oils for a various myriad of reasons. Torsens and True Tracs should be OK with synthetics, but they may even suggest only using petroleum based oils (don't know why).

I use Redline's Heavy Shock Proof oil with my stock Torsen. After this past season, I'm a firm believer that it helps in high stressed cars.
As mentioned above, if it's a Auburn unit, don't use a synthetic, a regular 75W90 with the limited slip additive will be fine.

Stock cars came with both Torsens and Auburns. I believe that the earlier year cars got the Auburns and then it became an SLP option on the SS. Basicly if your look into the diff and you see spider gears, you have a Torsen. The Aurburn is a clutch style and that's why they reccomend that you don't use sythentics for them.
