Talking It's finally DONE - 408 plus other stuff (vids/pics)

Just got the car back last night after being in the shop since beginning of July. THANK THE LORD. After many battles and setbacks the HPE 408 is up and running. It's been tuned just for street driving to make it bearable, but I'm gonna break it in real easy for 500 miles then head up to the dyno to tweak the tune and A/F. Needless to say, it sounds badass. The videos are horrible quality but hopefully you can get the idea. Also, while it was in the shop I did the whistler mod and smoked my turn signals with niteshades. The car is dirty as hell but I certainly couldn't wait to take pics.

Specs on the setup:
HPE 408
244/248 635/627 112 (installed 4 degrees advanced)
Stock 6.0 heads (I know I know, I have no money left though)
Eagle crank
Callies rods
Diamond flat top pistons w/ 2cc reliefs
11.1:1 SCR

Stock P/P TB
LS6 intake
SVO 42#'s
Walbro 255lph pump
Edelbrock stepped LT's w/ high flow merge
Edelbrock ORY
LM exhaust

At any rate, here are the vids/pics.
Warm Startup Inside Car
Warm Idle .AVI (Best Quality)
Warm Idle .MPG
Whistler/Smoked Signals
Whistler/Smoked Signals 2
Whistler/Smoked Signals 3

Yea, I just didn't have the money I thought I would for a FAST setup, so I just got another LS6 (prices add up real quick when your car is in the shop for almost 5 months).

Sounds great!! I can't wait to get my 402 done, and I can't wait to see what numbers you put down, and just think, you have more room to grow with heads, intake, etc.

i totaly agree..

arctic.. did you call HPE??? they told me dont baby it... get it all put together, strap it on the dyno and put some load on that bad boy.. he said all their in house cars are strapped to the dyno pretty much immediately after they are finished.. that way they are also not running for long without a tune...

I did not confer with HPE. I probably should then. Wasn't aware that they dyno so quickly. Just was trying to do everything I could to make sure this engine gets as much life out of it as possible.

Emailing Erik now...

Awesome set up man. That thing sounds sweet. I'll have my HPE stroker back on the road soon. I'll post up sound clips, dyno and ET results as well.

Congrats!

FWIW-I break mine in a 1/4 at a time

However, the odometer resetting each time is not cool

Heard back from Erik... he says as long as it's not too lean or rich (aka it's decently tuned before hand) it is OK to "dyno away" on the motor. This is good to hear... looks like I'll be scheduling a session ASAP :nods:

LostCauseZ06 - There is a new link for the MPG file. I didn't think the quality could get any worse but apparently it did. It's decent enough to get the jist of it though.
