first tuning session of new setup
Today I took the car over to Conley's Performance in Houston to tune the car using HP tuners 3 bar setup on their mustang dyno. Unfortunately HP tuners had not included the 3 bar in their package as was asked, but only the 2 bar so we decideed to run a normal 1 bar tune for now and theywill get the 3 bar software fixed up, wouldn't have helped us much anyways...
had over 10 pulls, most in the 585-595 range on the mustang dyno (~700 dynojet) but we ran into a limitation of sorts, we were runnign 93 octane pump gas (duh ) and could only get the boost up to 12 psi and had to pull the timing down to 11 degrees! to keep the motor happy. Fuel pressure was solid, if we added 1 deg, or half a pound of boost it would knock. I wonder if this is the limit for pump gas on my perticular setup as it stands with stock from 99 heads and cam, SCR at 9.4. AFR was adjusted anywhere from low 10s to high 11s to see if the motor would act differently but no change..left it at low 11s for now.
Does anyone have the specs for the 99 cam to figure out the dynamic CR to see if this is a problem?
I plan to go back to Conley's in the next few weeks to get the 3 bar setup going, I may decide to jump into some meth injection or run 100 octane gas, need to run at least 15 psi on low boost lol
for those interested in spooling the two MP T70 s, we had boost mapping on the dyno, full boost hit at ~4200 rpm.
IF the DCR is really a problem, H/C may happen sooner rather then later
was fun to drive the car again for one day
Had a little mishap with the coolant temps later tonight hopefully Jose can get me out of a bind on this one

IATs were raising less then 10* on the pulls lol. I imagine its even better at 100+ down the highway

Jerry's(cablebandit) reply stemed from a conversation we had earlier about why we were unable to go any further with the boost and or timing. Besides the octane we were just looking into what other factors could limit us pushing the timing or boost a little further. One of which could be the stock cam in theory. Obviously cablebandit is an alcohic or at least his car is so he probably be advocating meth if anything. I think he just believes the car could have been pushed a little further with a different cam on pump gas.
