fast 90/90 set up should yield you about 20-25 hp on a cammed car=$1200.00 1 3/4 lts with ory and a good catback another 30 hp or so=$700.00 to skimp and $2000.00 for the good ones. cam should be around 40-50 hp $700-800 for a cam kit.stall i'd go 3500-3600.can't remember $ for a stall 700.00?tuned you should put down around 400 rwhp with all the little mods, give or take.

Its tough to work from this angle... How about telling us your budget, wether or not you plan on doing the work yourself, the goals for the car, and how docile or agressive you want the acr to behave on the street. Then we can suggest what to go with.

Budget = 15K or so. I plan on doing everything myself or with other people's help. Goals are very minimal since i will be in school. I want to be around 400hp or so [give or take some] and be N/A. I do not want to do any piston/rods for now. I want a really nice cam lope [cause i love mine on my cobra] and i just want it to be/sound nice [poss of a 50shot if it will be safe]. I will get aggressive with it after school is done.

you could probably do a very nice head/cam package and get you 450whp with no problem, and money to spare...

if i had that money i'd go with some QTP 1 3/4 HVMC. ORY, CB, AFR heads, semi-aggressive cam, all other required boltons and whatnot...

do some suspension stuff too, and a nice set of wheels

Do I I take it that 15K includes the price of the car?

No prob, its worth a little extra time and effort to pull a ford guy over to the dark side

Hmm, Id think about:

Car: $xx,xxx

Lid: 100
FRA mod: 0
Port you own TB: 25
Pacesetter LT Headers: 400
Y pipe: 225
True Duals: 425
Cam (23x/23x) : 400
Valvespring seals and gaskets: 350
If you go M6 - Gears 4.10: 300 - 600 (depends if you can do it yourself, i did)
If you go A4 - Torque converter: 500
ASP pulley: 200
LS6 intake (if you dont get an 01+ car): 350
Nitto DRs: 250
Find a local guy with HPTuners for your year car and haggle out a price.

That leaves you ~11,000 -12,000 to spend on the car itself. Depending on what component choices you make, its easily capable of over 400 RWHP and quite possible to land you deep in the 11's. Just watch the weak rear end with 4.10s and nittos. I highly suggest the 4.10s if you go for the manual tranny though, the fun factor is exponentially increased!

Default Gains with most bolt ons

I was wondering if there could maybe be a sticky made that listed common bolts ons(or hell internal mods as well such as h/c) and there cooresponding gains in hp or rwhp. I think it would save a lot of threads(and answer my questions as well) My father who is a home mechanic refuses to believe that an LS1 can pick up 20rwhp with a set of long tube headers and thinks the gain of even 5 hp with a pulley is being generous. I know the gains would be greater with a tune so maybe there could a column for untuned and tuned. Speciflly, Im wondering what is the most liberal estimate for full exhaust including LTs and true duals. Thanks for any help.

With a full exhaust and a tune you should see atleast 30hp gain. I dynoed my car when mostly stock 318hp and 324tq, After ls6 intake, Lt's, ory, hooker CB, and a 224 cam I maid 396hp and 389tq at the wheels. Just to give you some #'s.

no one has done this because everyones cars are different, and some mods have to have other supporting mods to see the potential of each mod. like if you put a big cam in a stock car you wouldn't make that much power because of the stock headers.

there are just too many ifs and but's

Nice recipe for power....only one small problem....you can't have both a y-pipe and true duals. I'd assume that you didn't mean to include the y pipe so there is $225 you can cut out of your budget.

BUWAHAHA!!!!! I originally had a magnaflow catback listed cause its cheap and stainless, but I figured this guy would probably appreciate the sound of the true duals more than a catback. Youre right, i forgot to take out the Y. Good catch v8hunter. DOH!

or you could keep the y-pipe and run a cutout for $25

especially if your wanting a b/a lope with your cam ( not saying TD's wouldn't sound sweet also ) you could just have it quiet / loud when you wanted. and you dont have to mess with any clearance issues etc. if you do go with the Y-pipe Def. go offroad the sound is 100X's better!
