Look at the cam specs and bolt-ons you've got,
and try to line that up with any of the various
"canned" tunes that come with the Crane tuner.
I'm not that optimistic, but it could be covered
(or not, or "almost good enough", whatever).
I had to fiddle a bunch of things for idle and low
throttle drivability, on a TRex tuning effort. Things
like VE table and such, that other handhelds have
no access to. What you get with the Crane, check
out. By my read it's fitted up to a few Crane cam
combos but I don't know if Crane has any as far-
out as the TRex.
My personal opinion is that no handheld will be as
capable as PC based tools, unless you're hooked
up with someone who will customize it for you. And
that can be an iffy share-of-mind, weakest link
kind of proposition. If you happen to fit the "recipe"
(and plan to stick to it) then maybe you'll be OK
with it. But it doesn't look like sitting pat, is el
plan....

well i mean i know i wont be able to get every lil bit of HP out of the T-Rex with a handheld...Im lookin for more of a driveabilty kinda thing...my car is an auto and im planning on a 4000 stall if i go the T-rex route....i only drive my car 2-3 times a week...maybe 200 miles a week so its not a Daily driven car at all...so it'd be just till i can afford a dyno tune

no. the biggest it's designed for would be a 228/232 112 LSA. t-rex is 242/248 110 LSA. now, would it get the car started and drive able? sure. you'd be better off in this instance for a full on editing suite or have someone tune it for you.

I agree. Don't even bother with a handheld. If you really want a tune and you're saving up for some dyno time, get a mail order. It's not ideal but I'm sure Jess (Wait4me) or Geoff at TR can get you damn close.
