Do I have ASR?
Seems like a really stupid question but get this. I have the warning light in the bottom corner of the speedo display ...and I can have the car in first and stomp the gas without the tires really chirping...but where the manual says the ASR button should be(beside the defrost button on the console) I have one of those factory plastic plugs that companies put in place of an option you didnt buy. So its like I have all the features....but no button to take it off. Its a 99 SS. Any ideas?

It is. But 777, wouldnt any SS without ASR be able to melt the tires if yu floored it in first? My car will rocket foward but does not chirp...now in rain and during a right turn I can break them loose but otherwise its pretty difficult...which would be pretty uncharacteristic of a 330hp car with bald tires...right?

Look at our power curve. The LT1, yes. The LS1, no. Stock for stock which is faster? The LS1 everytime, but the LT1 will light them up easier/better. Hell, it's hard not to spin them in daily driving conditions in an LT1 M6.
The better you get with the clutch, though, the easier it will be. It's all about how you let up on it to keep it from bogging down. It's simple for me now, but when I first got the car, I couldn't spin them. Now I'm one spinning ****.
Try letting up half way. Don't dump it or you'll bog down. Or, rev to 2500-3000 or so.
I'm hoping 4.10s will make my car feel like my old LT1.
