Default 1997 C5 for $16998???

I recently purchased a 2000 SS, and I love it, and a friend of mine wants one now. Imagine that However here in the OKC, OK area I have found a 1997 Corvette with 59,000 miles on it. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...&max_price=&ca According to Carfax the car came out of Florida around 10/2005 and has no known issues. Could this be a hurricane damaged car that was fixed by a person and did not report it? Does anyone here think this is too good of a deal, or am I just paranoid. Here in OK we are close enough to New Orleans that some of those cars have made it here could this be one from Florida? Any suggestions on how to tell if it is legit would be appreciated. Should I sell him mine and have a C5 or stick with my cherry 2000 SS Thanks D

If you wanna drag, stick with the Z. If you wanna roadrace, get the C5 but in a manual not auto. The only way to tell if there was any damage is to go see it for yourself and test drive it.

I say vette, regardless of what you want to do. Hopefully it is a six speed too. A vette is so much fun to drive vs the bucket of bolts that we drive, they just feel so eleagent ( To me ) You already have a buyer for your SS, so that woul not be a problem, so get the vette.

Yeah the vette is an A4. I kind of need the automatic, because I drive a truck all day and in a semi you only use the clutch to take off. I could just see my self a 4 in the A.M. driving to work and trying to float a gear in my C5 like a stooge. I will probably go drive it tommorrow. I will definatly be poking around everywhere with all the bad cars out there. I just really like my Black SS. I guess I could trade my SHO and Aurora and sweat through about $800 a month in car payments!!!!

Get the C5, you'll love it! I love my C5 more than any other car I've owned (including three different fourth gen V8 Firebirds)

800 for a vette? Not bad, dad paid 700 for a SS

Not kidding, it's what happens when you Buy a brand new 98 camaro A4, have it for like 3 months, and realize you can believe you bought a automatic, and then ater 18 years, your done paying your first wife 900 bucks a month child support, and you go trade a new car with under 10k miles off on another brand new car lol.

Those C5's are getting cheap. It's easy to find a '97-'98 auto for less than 20K. Outstanding deal for the kind of car you're getting. Never seen one with an M6 that cheap.

Around here auto's are cheaper than six speeds, and more abundant. I drove around all weekend looking to buy a car. Seen prolly 40 F-bodies for sale, NOT 1 SIX SPEED!
