Default How much of a difference did you notice??

ok well i have the stock crappy 2.73 gears yes 2.73 gears, and i am wanting to upgrade to 3.73s and a 3500 stall. my question is for all those who have done a gear change and a stall, how much difference did u notice with pick up and power?? was it like night and day or just a slight difference?? i heard a stall really wakes up the A4s and want to know everyone elses opinion on this.

The stall made a huge difference in my camaro.
Different gears were a good mod but didn’t make near the difference the stall did.
They are both good mods.

I got a 3600 and it was too small (even for a daily driver)
The size of the stall really depends on how the car is setup.
What plans do you have for it?

You could see as much as a full second with a GOOD stall, the 3.73 gears, and DR's.

yeah the guy who tuned my car said the motor is really wanting to go but the gears are holding me back, i can feel it to the whole car picks up just the gears dont pick up fast enough to go like i want it to, and the stall will definantly help. the stall will be custom made to my car and whatever the guy says i will go with, how high of a stall is to high for a daily driver?? if a 3500 is to small what would be perfect for a DD??

how much should the average gears install cost, that is counting gears, pinion, and install with fluids and labor. a good shop quoted me 800 which from all the threads i have read is a good price. i will need a TA cover but thats pretty cheap, how much have you guys got your gears installed for??? and also what kind of gears are you running, brand and size.

or should i go all out and get some 4.10s , i want my car to pick up really good and from what i hear 4.10s are good gears and can be used in daily drivers without losing much gasmileage all the while gaining a **** load of bottom end torque and pickup. plus i will be goin from the 2.73s so i think i would be a very happy camper lol. what do you all think??

well on thunderracings site they have the strange gears in a package deal all for around 450 bucks for everything, gears, stud kit, TA girdle cover, fluids and install kit. would i be happy with 3.73s or should i go all out and get the 4.10s and be really happy or will it just be a pain for a daily driver with 4.10s in it??? who here has 4.10s in there daily driver and drive on the highway? and whats your top speed with those gears?
