You'll be happier with the cam you picked. It uses aggressive lobes which give you more power under the curve. The 231/237 is on milder lobes and suffers a bit down low.

so the 233/239 is an all around better cam, that is just a little more loupier?
just trying to get an understanding

The 231/237 was ground on a Lunati cam that featured lobes more like Comp's XE lobes.
The newer TSP grinds like the 233/239 feature XE-R type lobes which produce more low end power at the expense of valvetrain wear. Given a good spring like the PRC duals that TSP sells- not a problem.
So, the 233/239 will probably match the 231/237's stellar top end performance, while making better midrange power.
Lope is not a reflection on a cam's performance potential. It's the choppy sound created by overlap between intake and exhaust valve events. A slower ramp rate lobed cam will probably lope harder than a faster one. Lope is also caused by split in intake and exhaust duration (231/237 or 233/239), combined with sub 114 lsa. Some 114+ lsa cams still lope however, so judging by lsa alone won't get you a lopey cam.

TR followed this design idea when creating the CheaTR cam, also with a big difference between intake and exhaust, and doesn't hardly lope at all.

^ My point was that there's many factors which go into what makes a cam lope. Many people would think that all 112 lsa cams lope, but some don't chop very hard at all.

southFL: Thanks for reinforcing my decision. I figure if I dont like it for whatever reason I can always sell it and put another in! Since I am keeping stock heads I wanted as agressive a cam as my A4 would reasonably allow...
instag8r: TSP has the cam on the shelf and is shipping tomorrow I believe. I will let you know how I like it. My friend owns a performance shop 5 minutes from my house so I can have unlimited dyno time. Also, in April I guess Bryan Herter is going to tune my car and I hear he knows his $hit....
