For the best sound, best performance, or to say the best in an exhaust system would be a true dual exhaust system going over the axle and exiting out the rear from beneath the bumper in the stock location.

If you want loud and good performance it's definitely the SLP Loudmouth (LM). The true dual suggestion isn't bad, but I'd wait until I have a bunch of other bolt-ons before going True Dual. For example, Cold Air Induction (CAI) and Lid [get rid of all those stock baffles...), 85mm MAF Sensor, 160* Thremostat, Long Tube Headers (LT's), Off Road Y-Pipe (ORY), etc. Just my opinion, but you'll need to get a lot more air into the engine and get exhaust out faster before the Ture Duals will show any gain over the Loudmouth, and the Loudmouth is LOUD.

had a stock manifold/cat/LM setup, it was loud, but with a cammed 383 true dualed LT1 Formula idling next to me, i couldnt even hear mine start up
the LT/TD setup i have now puts the LM to shame, when you start it up, the coins in the ashtray dance, the pictures inside the house shake, the cat gets scared and hides under the couch, i cant order through the McDonalds drive-thru anymore, it sets off car alarms just idleing by, and when i floor it i cant even hear my stereo on full blast
so, deep: check, nice: check, loud: you bet your ***

i have LM with no cats and long tubes and it sounds like the situation liquid fire just explained. only its probably not as good a quality sound as his is. i love it though and the LM is relatively cheap.

I just bought a full exhaust for X-mas...
PaceSetter LT's
PaceSetter ORY
MagnaFlow Cat-Back
Decent price, and from the sound clips ive heard it sounds amazing... just what I want, hopefully.
Only thing i am concered about now is any rasp or drone. That isnt cool.
