Default ATTENTION TEXAS ENTHUSIASTS : Curious...

For a long time now, ive met and seen alot of firebirds, camaros, mustangs, gts, vettes, ect. around the state of texas in my travels but never could think of a way to bring anyone together. They shared a similar interest as i did, why couldnt we all chat like it was nothing without challenging a race?

I've 3 years experience in writing newspapers, magazines and publishing yearbooks for schools. Its been my interest for a while to create a Texas Only type of magazine/newsletter ( over 30 pages thick and color pages so im not sure if this counts as a newsletter ) that includes photos and stories from owners of these type of cars all around the state of texas. Go to the meets and races and on a monthly basis report the action to all LS1 and other owners.

Would anyone be interested in this? I think itd be only a $3 subscription fee ( 80% sure it will be free for the first year IF i can find some sponsers to help buy the paper and ink ) for the whole year of 2006 seeing as how all i need to really buy, is the paper as i have the machines to do the work for me.

The magazine would include:

"Kill" Records
Home Written Stories
Photo Gallery of Local Cars
Race Reports
Meet Coverage
Information
All Areas of Classifieds
Feature Cars
Show Information & Locations
How-Tos
Ect.

Not JUST modded cars with $20,000 in them will be included ( be realistic, we know we all cant afford that and some of us are most happy with our bolt ons ) - simple cars... like simply modded Honda's, stock Firebirds and Camaros, ect. This is a COMMUNITY magazine for everyone!

Of course id request stories from members of this board and others, photos, follow project cars on a monthly basis, feature car clubs, show cars for sale in the local areas ( ads will be FREE for the first few, maybe several years ), business ads ( also free until determined otherwise ), ect. All delivered right to your mailbox.

Come on everyone in Texas out there, we have a big enough crowd here to fill up 100 pages of this magazine per month. Youd have dozens to hundreds of people seeing your cars/wheels/parts for sale, business, current events and pictures and columns about them. See the upcoming prototype cars ( my uncle works in that department for Ford, im always hearing nice things ) and more.

Let me know. If i get a big enough interest, id like to start accepting stories, photos, self written columns, ads, ect and get this project on the road.

I think it's a great idea. It's also an opportunity to keep everyone in the loop on who's doing what to their cars, who beat who, who didn't show etc.

I like it!!

This is a good idea. I will gladly subscribe. What is the view of the newsletter? Informative, Pics, How to's, Stories, ect...The only thing I would ask, is to have a mix of average joes cars and super cars. I can't stand when all is see in mags are cars with 25-50k in mods that us average joes can't afford. Classy articles with down home stories would be a winner, something we can all relate to. Just my two cents.

Of course. We welcome the average joe cars and super cars. It wont be just a bunch of rich people pooring money into their cars. This is more like a community newsletter. All levels of cars will be included. Even the broken down Corvette thats overdue for a tune-up, so to speak. We will include home written stories about owner's cars and past cars, races, first time to own a modded car, their first race, ect.

Liking the idea now, Paul?

Alright guys, ive decided to go ahead and do the magazine. Working on getting some sponsers so the magazine can be free for everyone so if anyone has any suggestions or can help, itd be great.

Please send in the following if you have any that youd like to be published in the magazine :

"Kills"
Photos with Stats and Mods ( if applicable )
Home Written Stories
Project Cars in the Works
Project Cars from Start to Finish ( if completed )
Basic Photos with owners name ( first name and last initial ONLY , dont want any stalkers )and locations by city in the state.
Wreck Photos & Stories ( you all know we need to bash the insurance companies and bad drivers here.

So if you have anything you can put together, please PM me.

Also, if anyone lives in the DFW area and has a story worthy car theyd like to have featured in the second issue, please PM me and ill give you a # to call for interview and photos.
