2000 Firehawk want to start modding...
I've been doing my reading all over the internet as far as modding is concerned for my car and there is just an overload of info! I can't decide on what to do first, so I figured I'd ask some of you experience modders on the site what you recommend. I have a 2000 Firehawk...for mods I have an SLP lid, SLP MAF, Smooth Bellows, NGK Plugs, Centerforce Clutch and Flywheel, MSD Wires, and a SLP Loudmouth exhaust on the way. I also have 4:10 gears w/install kit, but it's not installed...I am still debating on this. I was just wondering what you guys would recommend be my next mod (ie. headers, suspension, tune, intake/TB)? Any help would be appreciated. I have an M6 btw...

If you want go mods, then get headers and y pipe to finish your exhaust.

Hey, you never said what your price range was.
I think SFCs are a good early mod. Makes the car feel much more stable. Headers would be another good choice.

I was reading somewhere on here that Don from Dez Racing was running a special on Kooks w/install and tune I may have to look into that...I've heard nothing but good things about that place from on here and from friends of mine.

headers and Y
Replace that LM with a decent sounding cat back
SFC's ( STB looks good and does its job, but not really needed, but only about 100 bucks from slp )
fuel pump
150 wet shot of n2o
should be seeing low 12's or high 11's with damn good driving, on DR's
Then save for a 12bolt moser or strange

a LS1 owner should be since it flows like ****.
A better, and more cost efficient, suggestion would be to install a cutout.

Ditch the 4.10's untill you get a 12 bolt. Grab the new QTP headers with the high-velocity merge collectors (HVMC) for the new price (wish they were out when i bought my pacesetters).
After the headers, the loud mouth is probably going to make you sick to your stomach. It sounds great on a car wtih stock manifolds and cats, but looses all its appeal once LT's are installed, ESPECIALLY with an ORY pipe.
If i had to do it over again, I'd go with the quietest catback i could find (stock?), and an electric cutout. I have dumped duals with bullets (TSP system) on my car and have a setup in the works to tame it a bit. It sounds great and everyone complements it, but they dont have to drive it every day lol.
Headers/cutout/camshaft/tune Then start saving for a 12 bolt rear end and drive easy untill you get it.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I appreciate your help. I looked at the QTP headers and I really like their setup. I was wondering seeing I have a 2000 Firehawk with the basic stock intake manifold if I wanted to get the headers with no EGR Or Air Fittings I would have to convert to the LS6 intake manifold correct or should I get the SLP intake manifold with the EGR/Air fittings and keep my setup as is??

You can buy an adjustable freeze plug to stick in the intake manifold in place of the EGR valve. It looks like 2 washers with a piece of rubber between them and a bolt with a nut connecting them. Turn the nut and the washers squeeze the rubber out to fill/seal the hole
I believe you need a 1-3/8" adjustable freeze plug if i'm not mistaken. Most autoparts stores sell them for a couple dollars.
If you have the dough, you can go ahead and buy an LS6 manifold now and throw it on at the same time. If not, delete the systems and run the plug for now.
When you have the codes for the AIR/EGR delted, have them delete the rear O2 sensors as well.

TransAmRog- Since you have the Loudmouth on the way already, whenever you get your long-tube headers and off-road y-pipe in, go ahead and just buy a Borla XR1 bullett muffler.
Here is a pic of mine:
It will help alot with the rasp you will get with LT's and ORY.
Peace,
Craig.
