What kind of battery are you guys having good luck with? I want something that's light and can be used in a daily driver. The car see's a decent amount of track time, but not a lot. Is the Optima Red Top (part number 144-SC34U) my best bet? Any batteries to avoid?

There doesn't seem to be much info on batteries here, any info would help. Thanks!

Get an Optima Red. Free 3 year replacement on warranty, or if you buy at Cosco, free lifetime warranty replacement instead of the adjusted out warranties.

I picked one up the other day and it seemed just as heavy as the stocker. I doubt the difference (if there is any) would be noticeable.

I wish there was a good, light, and streetable battery around.

I had a Red Top for a while, great cold start cranking power and is a good upgrade for cars with aftermarket stereo systems with amps and such (if you have that).

I don't know about the Delco stocker, but it is at least a few pounds lighter than a Diehard.

I have had a red top for over a year, before that had an AC DElco from when i bought the car. AC Delco was a piece of **** compared to my Optima.

Costco Batteries are rated 1 compairing price/warranty/CCA etc. woot woo

I normally go with Interstate, I see them last the longest and have best OE like fit.

I got the Hawker and looking forward to seeing how it works out (spring). One thing that surprised me is that you don't have to trickle charge it when it's stored. You just top it off and store it. It's been staying at around 12.7 volts since.

I did the Red Top myself, and it has been a great battery. I've had it drain 3 times on me (my mistake all 3 times) to the point where it wouldn't turn the car over, and it is still going strong.

One thing I have noticed is that now that I have a Battery tender, I find that it needs to be topped off about twice a week to make sure it has a full charge. The stock charging system in my car doesn't seem to charge it enough for the type of driving I do (daily commute of 20-30 minutes each way usually).

It is going in my car, and I am gonna daily drive it. Andrew (GM Muscle) daily drives his with that battery, and no problems.

If your worried about the odessy 680 you can use the 925 which has plenty of power
and weighs 25 lbs.
