806 - 98
853 - 99-00 (some late MY00's got 241)
241 - 01-02

241's are the best ls1 head.

all the flow figures i've seen show the 806's being at the bottom, compared to 853 and 241's.

Yeah, I have a 2000 T/A and I have the 241's...

What kind of gains could you see having the 241's ported, vs buying another set of heads (AFR 205's or some LS6 heads), given it's still a stock LS1 otherwise?

why would the casting number on my heads be on the driver's side? it looks as though it was machined off of the passenger side. 853 heads...car was assembled in 12/99.

Probably on backwards...

Seriously, it's a little strange, but you'd think if someone were going to fool with the casting numbers, they'd pick something other than 853...

It was ground off, huh?

The casting number is going to be at the back of the head on the drivers side!If ya think about it if ya flipped the pass head around the cast number the cast is at the back!Thats why there not one there its just smooth!
