i have the catted y with the pro springs.... and......i scrape the **** out of the drivers side cat all the time... it hangs way too low, though the passenger side is just fine.. im thinking about putting smaller pipes, like 2.5", on the drivers side, would it be bad if i did this and kept my passsenger side 3"?

My catted-y hangs very low as it is.. no lowering for me. I've tried to get it as high as possible. If I get it any higher, it will be rattling.

I don't think the MAC's will help alot. I think it's more the y-pipes that scrape and not the collectors. You'll most likely have to be careful with any aftermarket y-pipe, whether you use mid-lengths or longtubes.

Those cats are redonkulous.

These are the ones going in my TSP duals system. I'm having an exhaust shop put them in and gave them permission to "clearance" anything they needed to to make them tuck right.

This guy is right. Think about it, we're trying to put a larger diameter pipe in the same place that used to have one that was smaller and it's not smashed down like the stocker. For those with cats, it's gonna be worse because you add to the O.D. of the system with a cat and the placement is now under the car more than when stock. My Y is as close to the floor as I can get it and it still looks low. I just left the car at stock height and painted the Y flat black to help hide it. Bottom line is these cars were never made for a good exhaust system and when we add these things were gonna have to sacrifice somewhere.

I'm looking to do the same exact thing with a local exhaust shop here. Can you PLEASE keep me informed as to what they do, and how they do it. I can't take the driveway scraping anymore. And that's not even thinking about the pro-kit sitting in my bedroom.

Are you lookin to get a custom y-pipe?
