Default slp bellow is trash

Does anyone want to buy this piece? I need my fifty bucks back. It doesnt fit at all. The lid fit like a charm before and won't even latch down now. I'm off to Home Depot as we speak to rectify this situation. I guess if you want it right, you gotta do it yourself. Thanks SLP!

If you try to use that SLP bellow with an aftermarket LId you will have to cut a good INCH off it for it to fit. Correctly its just to big. I have one And i know i have to Trim it down some.

Why don't you try trimming the SLP bellow down a little bit with a utility knife? That's what I did, and it fits fine now. You'll have to trim anything that you buy from Home Depot too.

Mine fit great. It is big enough that your MAF should just slide right in. No cutting necessary.

I found that most lids the maf will slide in there but on the slp lids it wont. Mine doesnt go in at all and thats why the bellow wont fit.

That's strange. I've never had a problem with the stock MAF or my old Granatelli MAF not fitting in my SLP lid. I usually have to adjust the bellow a little on the TB to make everything fit snug since I trimmed about 1/2 inch off of it, but it all fits fine.

I wonder if I should trim mine now. The metal clips on my SLP lid always come undone when I drive it. Would trimming down the bellow prevent this?

My stock MAF and my SLP MAF were both fine with my SLP lid. I had a depot made bellow and i had to cut quite a bit to get it to fit right. Cut the SLP bellow and it will work fine!

That's weird, I have the SLP lid and bellows and haven't had a bit of trouble. Fits on and off everytime and the clips never pop off. But on my friends ws6 his fits ok but the clips do pop off. Very strange.

Yeah, if you have an aftermarket bellow trim a little bit off the end. Then make sure the front of SLP lid is tucked inside of the lip on the lower part of the airbox before you snap the metal clips down.

I will try to get some pics so that you all can see what I am talking about. Both lips just meet together and dont slide in to each other. I have to use a rubber coupling to make them fit together. I am going to work on it tomorrow and will post the results. Wish me luck. Hopefully I wont f*&k anything up.....

I had the fernco on my MTI lid for a while. It started cracking so i removed it.

Just rock the stock bellow is what i say. I put it back on and couldnt be happier. It fits perfect and has tons of flex.

I think i'll sacrifice a HP or two for my lid to not crack anymore. If i feel bad about it, i'll take my floor mats out to make up the difference

Word, I'm puttin my stock bellow on next time my lid is off. It's a pain in the *** having to undo a screw along with the clips just to get the damn lid off to get to the air filter.
