Default Time for tires: KDWs or Fuzions?

It's time to buy some tires and I'm debating between the two (rear tires only)... It's $110 cheaper for two Fuzions (I'm on a student budget) however I'm willing to spend more if the performance is WORTH more. I've been told by some to get the Fuzions and by others to get the KDWs so I'm looking for first hand reports from those that have owned them, which would you buy for the money?

I'm using the stock rims (245/50 - 16s) and currently have the Goodyear Traction T/As on them. They suck, needless to say, I can't launch very well at all, although they don't chirp at anything more than the 2-1 shift (auto).

The GS-D3s went up some more and I just can't do $350 for just the tires to my door.

All opinions are welcome, thank you.

Fuzions FTW! Cheaper and better in the wet than KDW and equal if better for dry traction. Traction on fuzions is good enough to go a 1.9 60'. Don't waste your money on KDW unless you really like the looks. Tirerack has the fuzions for a good price $82 I believe.

I've had the kdw on my car and I loved them. I switched to the kdws and I wished I hadn't. My friend just put the fuzions on his 02 trans am, and he hates them. He had sumitomos on the car before he bought the fuzions and they did better in the corners than these do. Get the kdw's, they are worth the extra money.

i have 275-40-17 fuzions now, been cutting 2.0 60', they are decent, on the street i have no problems spinning them, 5 different track days with about 3 passes each time and they have about 50-60% life still, and thats with daily driving, burnouts killed most of the life on them, im not going to say they are a great tire, but as for quality/price they are very good

I have Fuzion ZRi's right now as a winter tire, I was really hesitant about the quality. I have had them for about two months now, and they are very good. Really good quality for the price.

if you are TRUELY on a budget: Fuzions. if you want tires that will run out twice as fast and are way overpriced get the KDW
