Default What kind of wheels do you run on street for those narrowed?

I should finally be ordering a 9" in a week or so and still debating to narrow or not to narrow? I like the options in race wheels, having a better assortment of bs'ing available, but I know I wont be able to run stock wheels narrowed 2" per side. So, been looking around, just havent seen anything to catch my eye yet. Thanks.

I had my Starz, and hated mounting them with the spacer yada yada.. For racing I just ordered a set of Bogarts last night. I have been looking for street wheels, would love a ZR-1 in a custom offest for this application, make life simpler. How is school going? Planning on coming back to the islands?

17" Bogart RR10 street wheels would look KILLER on a narrowed rear.

John, I agree whole-heartedly, however, if I got pulled over in Hawaii, maybe for the obnoxious exhaust note or something, and had to have my car checked at a "recon" station, the wheels would fail since they are not D.O.T. I actually considered buying a set for street use, but until Bogart makes the plunge to spend the $ on DOT approval, not my choice.
I would like to find some place that can redo the offset on a 17x11 ZR-1, then just have it recoated, that to me would be killer. Having stock wheel with a nice fat dish on it!

I run draglites and have two sets of rear wheels, one w/street tires and the other with my race tires.

I hear ya on the D.O.T. thing. That's too bad how strict they must be over there.

Ha, I roll on P2 Bogarts, ET Drags, and Moroso DS2s all season long on the streets.

Good luck to ya.

ls1408cp, very nice looking setup...
John, I havent had any issues with the LEA here yet, *knocking on wood* but they are cracking down some. Even though its a no-fault state, I dont want to be on the end of a lawsuit in the event I was involved in an accident, regardless of why, and it was found the wheels are not DOT. Doesnt matter where your at for that to happen, it still equals bad juju.

ls1408cp could you share your narrowed " ,backspacing ", rim and tire size with us. Also what else did you have to do (relocating anything)?
Thanks

Thanks for the info. I was thinking it was 5" backspacing but wasn't for sure. I'm thinking about the same thing for my 9".

There are probably more choices in wheels with a narrowed rear end then wheels that have to have such a large backspace. We can change the the wheels if need be as long as I have some reasonable time frame for adjustment.

Our wheels do not have stamped on them ("for drag race use only" like many aftermarket drag setups ...i.e. how your prostars have stamped in large letters on the outside of the wheel) anywhere on the exterior of the wheel...you'd have to literally dismount the tire off the wheel to see the markings.

Steve, I am just really worried about driving from my house to the track...about 4miles, yeah I know really long trip huh But I wouldnt want to **** up a nice beautiful new Bogart. And for daily driving, since I do DD mine, I know I want stability. Still thinking.

Well I can't condone the use of the wheels on the street since it would be illegal for me to do so...but I can tell you many folks use them all the time without issues. We have a VERY low damage rate of our wheels from the original production date I initiated over 5 years ago for F-body specific wheels.

I can build matching RR wheels that would take the most demanding lateral RR stresses. I’d put them up against just about any aluminum street wheel out there being produced regarding durability.

Hey man, looks like I'm gonna have to put the 9" on the backburner for a lil while. I'm probably gonna get me a Grand Prix GTP next week, as a daily driver, since I decided to mod the TA....I've have a bright red TA and a bright red GTP lol, should make for some fun pics

School is goin alright, now that I've gotten everything straightened out. I had hoped to come out for a couple days over Christmas, but I didn't get to....We'll have to see, but if I do, it'll be over Spring Break, or this summer....Would love to come visit though bro, hope everything is goin well for ya!

Has anyone run a 3" per side narrowed 9" rear and what size tire/rim combo did you use? Also if you know about how much clearance do you have inside?
