Default Fast 90mm intake / NW Tb results

Well I picked up the intake + TB from TSP using there "fastcombo" deal and I couldnt wait to install it. I was hoping to see around 10 -12 hp over my ls6 intake with stock tb ( But ya never know). I went up to eastside and had them go over the tune. Without tuning I saw about 1 hp which could have been anything. After tuning I picked up 20 rwhp peak ( but there was a solid gain from 4000 rpm up . Defintly more than i expected to see from a box stock intake and the Tb.The weird thing is that I had the car tuned a month ago and I made my peak hp with 31 degs of timing with the ls6 intake. With the 90mm intake i made max hp at 25 degs.I tried it at 28 deg and it was the same hp # as 25 degrees. Anyone else have simular experience after the swap?

Big Thanks to eastside for putting in the time to find the hp for me

My car is an A4 with all bolt ons heads / cam / yank converter / hooker headers

I am not posting the actual numbers since the dyno is only a tuning instrument. But I just figured I would share info from a solid gain from this mod that I had been very skeptical about. I would have posted if it wasnt a good gain also but I dont feel as bad about spending the money now.

My dyno pull started at 3800 and I already had an increase. I have a 4000 stall so anything under that wouldnt matter to me anyway.

This is good news as I did the swap last fall myself and didn't feel much of a gain or even a loss down low..., but the top felt better.

Have to get a good dyno tune in the spring anyway to sort out some shift point issues so I hope I see the same results...

Let me also add that as soon as i installed the new intake the off idle power felt like it came on faster. It is really on point now. Now I just have to address my leaky headers and crappy y pipe and Ill be all set.

good to hear about the gains, I just installed a fast 90 and an LS2 90 tb. Both ported by Tony Mamo. I can't wait to see what I get out of it. Going to the dyno, and getting tuned this sat.

Great results! I just installed a FAST 90/NW 90 combo on my car, and am getting it dyno-tuned again soon. The car already pulls a good bit better up top over the LS6 intake/Ported TB, and I haven't noticed any loss down low either. Hopefully I'll get some nice results on the dyno like you did.

I got my Fast 90 intake the other day and am still waiting for the NW tb.
Is it worth getting an 85 mm maf and air lid?

I never changed my lid or maf size so I dont have any info if they are worth any gains. I would imagine they would do something. Maby its something I will look into.

No kidding! I hear all these stories about the 90/90 combo's and its killing me being I already want some other goodies lol. My wallet just sits on the counter and laughs at me everytime I go to Tech and see the results...

Hopefully come tax-time, I'll be one step closer

Nice, I'm curious to see what gains you get. I just picked up a Fast 90, and am sending the intake out today to Tony for porting.

If I can get about 440 with the intake/TB, porting, and going with a straight pipe to replace the TTS cats, with such a small cam (.558/221) on unmilled AFRs (~10.3:1) I would be extremely happy.

with my old stage ABS 2's, 230/230, ls6 set up i made peak rwhp with 29 degrees timing, with my ABS 2.5's, G5X3, and 90mm setup i made peak at 27 degrees timing.

No porting on mine. I installed it just as it came from fast.

Just got my Fast 90/ NW 90. Will be installing soon then a dyno tune, can't wait to see ( and feel ) results. Who is Tony Mamo you guys are talking about? Does anyone have a phone # for him? I have been thinking of getting my Fast 90 ported.
