Default void warranty...

I have a 2001 C5 vette and I was wondering if I were to swap out my camshaft, will that void my warranty?

unless its a GM camshaft (like the GM hotcam) it will probally void the warranty. If your engine does go their goin to blame it on the aftermarket camshaft

Yes, if they find out that you did that!

Could depend on why you need warranty service. Many dealers are very reasonable on mods. They look at the situation and try to determine if the mod had a direct affect on the failure. Some examples are, if a wheel bearing fails they would cover it but if a valve broke a piston, probably not, may want to check with your dealer.

If the modification can be linked directly to the issue, then yes...it will void
that warranty item.

A cam will hands down void any motor issues.

You have a warranty left on a 2001?

Also, some dealers will continue to cover you under warranty if they sold/installed the part and only they would service it. I know of a dealer who adds superchargers this way, not a GM dealer though.

I thought the same thing. Maybe an extended warranty?

I've heard of them driving your car to see if you have any hidden mods. I'm sure they can tell just by starting it.... Its in there best interest to find any way possible to deny your claim.
