If they look good to you still reuse them. If there is anything that you might think will cause problems later on buy some new ones.

Im not saying you have to, but I reused mine and havent had any issues. But like they said if they look like crap then just replace them. I am going to replace my headers again soon since I banged all up and I will replace the gaskets with new ones then.

If you choose to replace them make sure you get the factory GM gaskets.

I say it depends on mileage and wear on the gaskets. Most of the time you will be fine with the stockers.

My stock gaskets have seen stock manifolds, mac midlengths, and now pacesetter longtubes......no leaks whatsoever. Re-use them.

Gaskets are meant to be tossed....don't take a chance. Buy new gaskets. If this is your first f-body header install, then you'll soon find out why it's not worth the risk. Trust me, you won't want to have to pull them back off just to replace a gasket.

I agree that its inexpensive piece of mind, but why spend money if you dont have to. Most of the gaskets on the LS1 are meant to be reused. Thats why there's engineered silicone gaskets instead of the old fashioned ones in the 98 ls1s. I feel the same thinking went in with teh MLS exhaust gaskets. Even if he does get a leak with the reused MLS gasket, what does it take, 20 minutes to pull the plug wires, remove the 6 bolts per side, slide out the old gasket and slide in the new ones? It dosnt require removing the headers by any stretch IMHO.

I agree, stock stainless steel are the way to go. They will never blow out like the cheap paper gaskets.

I do beleive that once pressure has been applied to the gasket, it is going to leak no matter what if you re-used it, it may not be noticable, it may be noticable. I would buy new ones to prevent loss of horespower, having to replace them again.

Just don't use the paper ones. Every one I know that has used paper ones have had leaks. Just reuse the old, unless they were leaking before hand, or you damaged them somehow while uninstillation.
