Default SES light after skip shift eliminator install

Yesterday I installed a skip shift eliminator kit, when I went for a test drive the SES light came on. Has this happened to anybody? Anyone know how to fix it?

Might just be a coincidence, got the code? I'd check the ENG SEN fuse just for the heck of it. Just guessing...

Where did you get yours from? I have one from RK Sport and it works ok.

I just did the resistor mod. While the skip shift light still comes on, I get no code. Pull the code, see what it is.

As long as the resistor is seen, shouldn't set an SES.

Positive it is installed correctly?

Too coincidental to get an SES after that, if its in right.

Double check that the plugin module is fully seated, no bent contacts or anything abnormal.

And post code.

Maybe your device is calibrated to the wrong resistance. Do you have an multimeter to test it with? If you can get a reading on how many ohms of resistance your eliminator has I can compare it to mine and see if the device is messed up.

Should be 2,200 ohms, if bare resistor, 1/2 watt.

Heh, 2,200 ohms? To get that kind of resistance from a coil, wow. That is some solenoid!
