Default which muffler for true duals?

getting the tsp true dual x setup, which mufflers should i get... spiral flows, sweet thunder, dynomax bullets.... describe the difference in sound if you can.. Im sure they all flow the same since theyre straight through so im thinking of getting the quietest one, even though i know it theyre all going to be loud

ANY good flowing muffler will be fine, but personally I'd go for Classic Chambered Mufflers' Powersticks, they are essentially the same idea as the mufflers used on the GMMG system, they flow GREAT, the 2.5" ones are fine for well over 500bhp and the 3" well in excess of 800bhp (from the flow figures I've seen), they also sound fantastic and are cheap to buy. Plus they are compact and easy to locate.

If not, then I'd probably try Magnaflow they make some great 4" diameter the 6" diameter mufflers in stainless. They are very very similar to the Borla XR-1 mufflers in design but a fair bit cheaper. (They do offer 'Race' series mufflers, but unless you are racing will only cost you more for little extra).

Guess I just like to be a little different from everyone else.

Quitest one is going to be the spiral flows.

Sweet thunders and bullets are going to be pretty loud.

I'd either get Sweet Thunder's or Spirals Flow, or whatever they call them

dynomax bullets flow the best and most people think the sweet thunders sound the best. They are all pretty loud.

I got the dynomax bullet (although it's not on a x-pipe setup) and I'm quite happy with it.

I've got Bullets in my duals, and love them. They're definitely raw, but that's part of what's so great about them.

ive heard those classic chambered mufflers and they sound great, but tsp offers their dual system with the other three.. ill probably go with the sweet thunders, i have about a week to decide.. i guess the dynomax's flow a little better but i love the ST sound.. should sound good with the tr230 im having put in later this month.... thanks for all your input

i havent seen anyone else do this on here, but i was down at ocean city, md for classic cruiser week last may... suggestion, if you live within 8 hrs of here, i recommend you go.. its like a car show except everyones driving around and nights are pretty much filled with burnouts on the street.. lasts from a thursday to sunday.. anyway, so i met a guy with an 01 ss from virginia, sunset orange, had true duals out the back into that center mounted 2 tip exhaust.. said he had to fab up some pipe to make the tips work on the 3 in pipe.. anyway it looked great and sounded bad ***.. did i mention it was a 402 h/c spray.. i looked under the car, it was over the axle, definately looked like a lot of money was put towards making it work.. also had cutouts..

Yeah but is it going to be as loud as the stock setup? I would love to have to quiet interior lt & TD setup but keep the "TD loudness" outside the car.

ST are still somewhat loud inside the car. Depends on what you consider loud. I think it is fine and it is def loud outside and behind the car. Sounds like you may want to go with the Spiral Flows if you are wanting quiet inside the car. They still will sound great.

My bad, sorry I didn't read that you said TSP duals, I just thought it was a generic question.

Hope you enjoy your new setup
