Default 200r4

Anyone have any experience with this trans. I want one for my 68 camaro. It has a 383 sb. I'm currently mini tubbing the car and installing a 4 link with a 9in ford. Probably gonna go with 3.73 gear. Everyone tells me the 200r4 will hold the 450 hp but I want to know who make a high stall for it. I'm talkin around 3000 to 3500. I like the 200r4 because it has a closer ratio than the 4l60.

I'm running a 2004R built by CPT Transmissions (the real Art Carr) and love it. Its hooked to a 406 small block thats putting out about 580 horse I never have had one problem with it. I hade 2 Bow Tie Overdrives Level4s did combined. 3 700R4s that were decimated by this engine. Go for it they rock. It has already lasted longer than both the old 700Rs combined

A built 2004R will handle a lot more than 450hp with no problems, plus it is a very easy swap in a 67-69 Camaro. In fact I am picking up a custom built 2004r tomorow!!!!!
