how long did it take you to rebuild your first t-56
took me way to freakin long. took it appart cause 3-4 didnt work, found a shattered shift fork, so i pull out shaft after having to break that glorious t-40 bolt loose then i find the black metal shifting plate that goes on the 3-4 fork lying down in the tranny and i have no rebuild manual and the extent of my knowlege is watching alan put my proshifted gears in. so it took me like a hour to figure how how every thing goes in there after manualy shifting the linkage with a tiny screwdriver through the press pin hole, then i get the shafts put back in and the reverse dont seem to move and i see that one of the 3 lil keys moved out of place and that lil wire lookin tension spring that holds them cam off, so i have to pull reverse off the shaft and figure out how that was suposed to work and put it back together, then put all the shafts back in again then get the covers to align and go back on, and to my amazment all 4 gears and reverse still work total of about 4 hours i could prob do it in 45min now

My 1st one took about 3 hours. Then I could pull a tranny/rebuild it, and install it in under 4 hours.
Now I had a MF'r a few weeks ago that took me 8hr's to do.The whole main shaft was twisted. We cut the main shaft 3 time's to get all the gears off, nevermind the 2 puller's we broke

joe is the guy to get parts from he is awesome, and will help you if you need it. it took me about 2 8hr days replacing all bearings and syncs. for my first time and she still works great. it takes a lot longer to do the bearings. just the syncs its not too bad at all. the bearings take a lot longer cause you have to put it together and take it apart to get the right preload. good luck to ya.

Thanks. I keep the parts in stock so it is easier on the customer that is needing it right away. I also try to answer any questions when people call or post on the board. Not everyone is as familiar with the T56 as I am so if I can ever help anyone just call me.
Thanks,
Joe
