Default Power Steering Pump going?

I have noticed lately that in the morning when my car is cold and I make sharp turns I get a noise when turning the wheel. It sounds like a faint grinding noise. This goes away after warmup. Also, I have notice when doing a u-turn it's starting to whine. My mileage is 52,000. If so what kind of cost am I looking at to fix this?

GM High Tech performance did an article on a high performance PS pump for LT1 and LS1 engines, I think it went for about $225, and with the associated pulley it gained 3 hp and worked better than the stock unit too!

you can get a stock one used for about 50-100.. i found one with 20k on it and it worked fine.. there always on ebay, and if you find one with a cracked reservoir, since some are from wrecked cars, you can swap your reservoir onto it
