Default Changing transmision fluid in a 6 speed?

I have a 98 Z28 M6. Where is the drain plug on the transmission at? Where is the hole to fill it back up? I can't seem to find it? Thank you

Passenger side of the tranny, there are two plugs. The one at the bottom is the drain plug. The one about half way up the tranny is the fill plug (yep, they made these things idiot proof).

Now, if someone could point me to a good pump system to get the oil into that side hole, I'd be really happy

if you cant find a fluid pump, you can always pull the shifter out, and pour the oil in there.. it all leads to the same place...

downside to that is the work to get the shifter out, but its easier then trying to fill the trans without a pump.....

at your local autoparts store, go by where the gear oil is... if its not there, go look where the grease guns are.... its usually in one of thoes two places... most autoparts stores have them.

i cant do it that way with mine due to the exhaust.... id rather pull the shifter then mess with the exhaust... plus mine is easier to pull... (remember im a LS1 swap conversion, not a 4thgen )

I got it done. I got the pump at auto zone for maybe 2.00. It worked but it was not fun. It got a little messy. Thanks for the help.

So how much fluid is needed when the tranny has been drained? Standard is DexIII if I remember correctly?

i work at a marina, and got my pump from there. Its a mercury gear lube pump, and it works great. Screws on to the top of most bottles too.
