Default New goodie for the race car.

This thing is just to sexy not to share a picture of. New breather tank for the race car. Going to plumb a -20 from the valve cover to this and then have an -8 to a collection tank for any blow by.

1 layer CF construction throuhout. Only metal on it is the hose clamps and the tops of the filter and 2 fittings. Weight <1lb.

-20 was what was available. If all else fails I can always cap the -20 and just run a -8 to it and not worry about blowby. Kind of one of those, "here is what we think we need, so lets grab it and if we dont need it we can still figure out a use for it. And if I cant find a use for it on the car, it would still look pretty bitchen hanging on the wall in the garage.

Maybe a port-a-potty for Don when we step up to the fast class

Boyce,

Very trick looking unit.

The -20 is definetly big time overkill for what amounts to a *mist* of oil. -10 or -12 is all thats used for most vacuum pumps. Given you're racing for a long period of time I would be mostly just concerned with the capacity of the tank. Judgin by your hand underneath it, and the fact this is just catching blow by, and not the recipient of a pump pulling vacuum from the crankcase, it should plenty big.

I'd kinda like one (smaller one) for my racecar....

Any idea on who originally made it, or is it some Yates/Hendricks/etc/etc in house custom jobbies?

Haha, you don't know what this is??? Its a Continuum Transfunctioner of course! Sheesh!

Just jackin with ya man.

Basically its just a tank to hold the oil that the motor spews out either due to blowby, or from a Vacuum Pump pulling air (and a mist of oil) from the valve cover/crankcase, also possibly for a Dry Sump Oil system but we won't get into that here). Most cars with a solid engine don't have much for blowby, and the little that they do have is just routed back into the engine by the factory's PCV system. Alot of guys just replace the PCV with a small breather of course, and so long as the blowby isn't excessive it works ok.

Hey Boyce, is it a complete one piece unit that doesn't come apart? I almost need one custom made. If I could take it apart I might be able to modify it how I need. I'd prefer a -10 and a -12 on the side, and mount the tank vertically with a larger breather on the top. From what I can tell there really isn't a drain on the thing, I assume thats what they put the -8 in for.

This is what I'm using currently: http://static.summitracing.com/globa.../mor-85465.jpg

Mines polished, but it still ain't as pretty as that Carbon Fiber piece......

Oil kills octane. And with my new motor I cant have that. Not even a little.

Its a complete unit. Cant take it apart. But you really wouldnt need to. If anything pools up in it, you just unhook it and drain it.

The -8 could be used as a drian or a return line.

I will be using the moroso one to vent the rear end.

Probably not for a while. I have a bunch of other little stuff I have to tackle first. But when it happens I'll let you know.
