Default Do V6 Fbodies have the same manual trans as the V8 models?

Just as the title reads... do the late model V6 Fbodies (98-02) have the same manual transmission as the V8 cars? If not, what's different?

the rear end is different. Most likely, you have 3.23s and an open differential. the TAs/Z28s have 3.42s and a LSD

wow a little mis-reading of the post there, he was wondering about the transmission whether they were the same between the v6 and v8's and the answer to the question is that they are different trannies the v8's have the t56 which is a six speed and the v6's had a 5 speed manual im not sure what the tranny is maybe the t5? someone else can chime in on that one

I believe the V6's have 5-speed trannys, so no, they are different.

The 5 speed manual in the V6 was(is ) a T5. C-F 3 cars both the V8 and V6 manuals were T5s , although the ratios were different.

Ahh gotcha, yes I am interested in the trans not the rear end. So is the T5 a tough trans... was it used in any other high performance vehicles?

A t-56 is a 6 speed. A T5 is a 5 speed. They are not the same thing.
