Front License plates
Whats the official word on the requirements of front plates? I thought they were going to make it not required? What happened?

The only F-Body/s I have ever had mine on was my '68 just cuz it came mounted already and didn't mess up the front all that bad and my '85 cuz my parents made me (I was 16). The other 8 F-Bodies I have owned have never seen and prolly never will see (future cars) one. Haven't been "hassled" about it in so long I honestly cannot recall when the last time anyone said anything to me about it.
It helps to not be under 30 anymore

We even had that printed on our hot sheet each day down in Cali.
On the bright side, from the pic in your sig, you don't have to worry about that anymore.

I was pulled over for it last year. Gave me a warning told me if he saw me again it would be a ticket. It just gives them a reason to pull you over, got a ticket in Montana last summer with no front plate he didn't say a word.

Figured. I'm in line to buy a Cobra with no license plate and trying to resist putting a plate on the bumper.
Problem is it's black, loud and has tint, tinted taillights etc. Bah.

No sense offering yourself up for more problems if you can avoid it. Or you could wait and see and then if you do get cited, then you can always put it on later..........although it doesn't sound like fix-it tickets are the same up here. Back home you can fix it, get it signed of and usually pay a small administrative fee or if you don't wanna fix it (for most mechanical violations anyway) you can just pay the fine and leave it alone.
