Getting rid of td for y/cb.
Im about fed up with complaints from the neighborhood about my exhaust, so I am looking at a y-pipe/catback exhaust setup. As of now I have Pacesetters running of a custom x into 2 dynomax bullets. Ive been to ls1sounds and all, can still cant get my mind sent. Mangaflow always has had my eye, but I cant stand the sound of it during de-acceleration of the rpms. Hooker is about the same. Anyone out there with a bassani running with headers and y-pipe? Havent heard any sound clips of someone with their system that had more than just the catback exhaust. Any other suggestions? I still have my old TSP rumbler in the back yard, but like many say, it sounds like it would be ungodly raspy...

I've got pacesetter LTs, " " ORY and a magnaflow CB. It sounds great and I get compliments on it all the time. It's at the limit of being too loud for a daily driver; any louder and I'd want to get rid of it. I don't think I could do TD's for that reason. You will like the sound.

You can't stand the sound of a Magnaflow or Hooker on decel?
What don't you like about it? Those are two of three quietest cat-backs you can get besides stock, yet they flow very well.
If you are trying to make the car quieter do NOT put a Rumbler on there.
You sure that driving nicely in the neighborhood and ignoring complaints isn't an option?
How much quieter do you want to go? You could try a better muffler like Borla XR-1

It's hard to describe the sound I dont like. It like bubbling under water, a wet pitched sound. My taste is a more dry rumble I guess. I would ignore the complaints, but in an aparment complex, that is usually easier said then done.
I understand I wont be able to go much quieter, but I need something else as to where I can turn over the engine, and let it idle a minute or two in the wee hours of the morning without getting beer bottles thrown at me...

Just switch mufflers. Why spend the extra dough on a whole nother exhaust, when you can spend $200 for mufflers or less and be done? I would consider some Borla XR1's, as already mentioned or Moroso spiral flow mufflers. It will really quiet down your exhaust and make it sound more complex and mellow than it is now with the complaining neighbors. $200 or less compared to $500+ for a catback setup, depending on which you get cuz you will need a y-pipe too. My 2 cents, get different mufflers and save your money.
