Would you guys suggest buying a set of used SLP longtubes and ory? They are in good condition, and the guy is asking for $500. Seem like a good deal?

For $500 you can get a set of coated Pacesetter's or Jet Hot's with a TSP Y-pipe brand new. Even new, most people will prefer any type of long tube header period to the SLP long tubes.

Why do they prefer them over the SLP headers?

SLP's are known for there rancid clearance issues. They hang way too low, and you scrape just about everytime you go over a speedbump or angled driveway. And that's on a stock height car, lowered cars, not a chance.

And they will scrape through.

You can get a better header brand new like was said before. Best bet is no SLP's.

Like the rest of these guys said, they hang really low.
A local guy has them on his 99 Z (stock height), and I swear they scrape on just about anything, he hates them, and, will be changing them ASAP.
If you want headers for $500, try the pacesetters with teh TSP ORY

I say try and haggle them down to $100-$150 then flog them to some unsuspecting person for $400-450.

But don't put them on your car, because I think you'll probably regret it.

Okay. Thanks for all the advice guys. I appreciate it. I had no idea so many people didn't like them. I'm glad I asked.

Like everyone already said, you'd be way better off buying some brand new pacesetters. They are not only much cheaper, but a better header as well.

I've been using SLP's LT's for a few years now.

When I 1st bought/installed them, the TA was stock height.

I didnt mind them sitting low at that time, I didnt really scrape much at all.

But a year later, I indeed lowered the car.
Tho I'm not scrapping as bad as some others have posted about, I wish I had gone with another set of headers. Always being careful, I'm able to avoid scrapping for the most part, but its a PITA.

I have my eye on the Kook Step headers, but will proably wait until my SLP headers have taken a beating before spending the money again on a better fitting header.

So "hanging to low" is the only issue ? Other than that do they preform im not worried about clearance cause, I have 20 inch wheels so do the SLP LT's preform

I heard the SLP LTs would gain you a little more HP than most of the other headers. Not positive if that is true though. They at least perform as good as all the others.

What is everyones thought on Pacesetters vs Jet Hots? Are they about equal?
