i wanna say i would be surprised but at the same time im not. they gto is dead right? ev1s been saying that the gto would be a major factor in whether or not the brang back the firebird, and now its gone. idk they brought back the camaro, lets just wait and see about the trans am. it may come out 2 years after the camaro sort of like the original trans am. idk

I don't think GM will go under but certain platforms will be sacrificed for the better selling ones. Although with the sales of the retro Mustang being good and if Dodge actually builds the Challenger GM may finally be forced to build a decent looking retro sports car.

I would have to agree. The production of new sports cars by different manufactures may force GM (Pontiac) to build or bring back of of their sports model vehicles in order to compete with the sales of the mustang. Although GM might stay in the game with the new camaro (depending on sales) From what ive heard is that the new challenger may be fords biggest competetion in sales of muscle cars.

Take the '69 T/A and reshape it like they're doing to the new Camaro. I'd start saving my pennies for one.

Lutz just said that the GTO should be returning in late 2008 as a 2009 model.

the firebird idea is still being kicked around, but it's nothing more than an idea. or maybe a full mock up of an idea .

i won't be surprised either way, but it's not completely out of the question for it to come back.

Well GM is going to have to do something and do it right the first time. I was just looking at the 2007 Dodge Challenger, 6.1 ltr 392 CID, 425 HP/405 Ft LBs TQ and it looks bad ***. The only thing I didn't like was the multi-link IRS rear end.

i wish that gm could afford to have so many diff. sports cars in production at the same time like back in the 60's and 70's. but i dont know why they would bring the gto back again. they didnt sell too good did they? plus firebird/trans am is a bigger name. oh well. gm is going to **** anyway

I would like to see the Firebird go 5th Gen non-retro. Let the Camero go retro and the Firebird go modern.
