Default New Dyno numbers are in!

First, I would like to thank Rick at Synergy Motorsports for all his time and excellent tuning.

I wanted something in the medium size cam area and also had to work great with N20. Rick came up with a 230/234 – 59x/59x on a 114 LSA straight up. The out come was a very streetable cam that acts more like a 224 cam. BTW, there may have been another 5-8 RWHP in it with a cut out.

Mods are in my Sig! Oh, and there is no more MAF .

Here is the new numbers, they are corrected RWHP/TQ.

Very strong numbers. Rick is a tuning whiz. Congrats.

Well what was the outcome between the new cam and the T-Rex? Dyno #'s I mean.

Thanks for the props guys.

BAIN, I didn't want to post those in here trying to make a comparison between the two cam's, my setup has changed to much to give an apples to apples comparison and it wouldn't be fair to the Trex. I can PM you the numbers and differece in setups if you wish, or you can also do a search and find my old dyno #'s .

BTW, nice car! Like those 35th wheels on your car to..

Dan,
Just post up the difference in the two set-up and show both graphs.
That is the only way we can all learn.
Thanks
Bob

Ok, just no flaming . This is not a comparison, just informational purpose only!!!

First, the differences...

Trex gragh = A4 with locked stall, Stock alum DS, Stock rear with 3.23's, LS6 intake/ported TB, Cutout open, 10.8 CR.

230/234 cam = Converted to M6, Mcleod twin disk/steel flywheel, 3.5" alum DS, 12 bolt/4.10's, No cutout, FAST 90/90 (not port matched), 11.0 CR.

These would be the only effective differences, everything else being the same.

This is the Trex dyno (blue) with an overlay of the TR230 (red): Only difference in this overlay is the cam.

New cam 230/234-59x/59x 114 LSA straight up:

Dan, thanks for the comparison.
The T-Rex to TR 230 is about what I expected.
The TR 230 had it down low until 5,500 then the T-Rex had it and held it to 7,000 RPM
Your T-Rex HP line peaked around 6,500 and stayed extremely flat to 7,000RPM
You really had it dial-in!
What springs where you running.
How did the TR230 pull compared to your T-Rex?
My brother is thing of going with the TR230 in his A4 3200verter

How do you like the new set-up?
How is the drivability and how strong does it feel?

I am using the Crane 832 spring setup at 1.755 install height.

TR230 pulled real nice up to 6800 RPM. The Trex is soft on the bottom end as expected and was noticable, but you could really feel it kick in from 5500 on up, kinda like a two stroke hitting it's power band. It went from 5500 to 7400 all to quick, cought myself bouncing the rev limiter in first and second sometimes. The TR230 was just smooth constant power and seemed like it wanted to just keep going, I really liked the TR230 as well as the TR224.

I really like the new setup. It feels way different after having the Trex in there, but I can still roast 3rd gear. It pulls hard on the bottom end and the 6800 shift light comes fast. You can really feel the drivabilty mannerism differences when you go from a large cam to a smaller one, more so than going from smaller to bigger. So the true test will be the track, hopefully this month sometime.

Thanks for the comparison. I knew it wouldn't be an apples to apples for the T-rex and the new setup, but it's nice to see the differences in the two
