Default Who Here has had their Ed W PCM flashed by the Dealer back to Stock?

Hey Guys, I need LS1 Edit and my Ed W tuned computer is "locked" by them. I know u can have the PCM flashed back, but I have heard of SOME people having issues setting it back. The dealer couldn't do it. Maybe he was retarded, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> maybe it couldn't be done. Just looking for some help. If u have had this done successfully or not, let me know. Any and all input would help. Thanks Bear

If it is possible for it to be reflashed, Carputing should be able to do it. They charged me $50.00 + shipping to reflash a pcm for me. My laptop stopped working and had messed it up.

They also can sell you one for your car. I believe it runs around $200.00 + shipping.

Send them an email and they can help you out.

The reason I ask is because when my car was finished up by JPR, he went to tune it in with edit and it wouldn't work. I thought that it got done, but cause Ed makes it so, it wasn't done. I switched out the 373 to 410 and now I NEED it done. My plan was to go the the dealer who is 4 miles away from the dyno, have them flash it back to stock, then TRY to make it to the dyno shop on a stock tune and a MAFT. Do you think I can do it? Bear, here's a (happy ending) story from a local guy with the same issue:

I need to find out who the dealer was since I'm needing to get one reflashed myself.

I had it reflashed by Ed back to a stock tune. The dealer wanted like ~$100 to reflash mine to stock. Drove it ~10 miles to the dyno...that was fun. Had to feather it a little at stop lights, but it wasn't too bad. Mods at the time were SII H/C and converter.

I would try to use a dealer if at all possible...reduces the downtime and what not.

Is it possible that the dealers that are having trouble doing this are updating a PCM that already has the latest available calibration? Can they treat it as they would a new PCM installation requiring installation of a calibration and get around that?
