what should someone be willing to pay max?

i would just buy a new engine, as they are very cheap to buy. I wouldn't spend more than 2,000 on a v6 if that.

To rebuild a V6? $0. just stick an LT1 in it. Or LS1 if you want/can.

www.fullthrottlev6.com couple people have some 3800 Series 2's F/S currently, I believe.

so anyone know where i can get a cheap lt1?? mine has 173000 and planning to rebuild, but why not just get another right?? not sure where to look though

youre headed in the right direction!

i have two friends that own underpowered fbods
a 96 fireturd and a 92 RS
3.8L and 5.0L resp.

we could use a couple of lt1s
but theyre expensive!

where are you guys getting them (lt1s, ls1s) for cheap?
heres a good one=
how much is too much for an lt1?

Search ebay, search classifieds in car forums like this, you will find one for under 3k, LT1 motor that is.

haha, true how much is too much, well, i guess its you get what u pay for ,so dish out some good money for a good engine.

expensive because thats the only 3800 series 2 made thats rwd i believe the heads are different... this means you have to get diff gaskets and what not...

someone correct me if i am wrong when i think that $3k or less for an lt1 is an okay price. (i thought they were supposed to be cheaper)

people dont always get what they pay for
some people get a great deal
and some people get ripped

id like to be one of the ppl who got the great deal
(i paid $11k for my TA when they were all $20k!)
so lets get back to "how much is too much"
after hearing some guy bought his lt1 for $80,
i was thinking $3k would be too much

i'd appreciate more input from more people
esp from the "bargain hunters" (cheapskates)

ebay here i come

F the 3.8L
lt1s are cheap enough

if he wants to do that he can do it by himself.
