How to tell what stall you have
Just picked up a 2000 Formula & was told the stall was a Yank 4200, But I don't believe everything I am told. Would like to klnow for myself. Is there anyway to crawl under the car & look to see what kind of converter I have with out pulling the transmisson?

There is a 2-3 inch diameter circlular piece of metal that pops off with a screw driver that is on the bottom of the tranny (at the very front of the tranny) Pop it off and look up in there. Converter should be red and have a sticker on it saying what the stall is. You may have bump the ignition key a few times to get the converter to turn and show the sticker. You can do this in the drive way while it is on ramps.

When I ordered one is 2002 it was red, had one skinny white and black label saying what it was, and one silver metallic yank sticker beside the white and black one. Since they switched to the circular sticker around the pilot I don't know if they stopped the metallic sticker.
