Default newbie shifter question

Ok, Im starting to agree with most of you that the stock shifter, is well......clunky..

My question is, honestly, how much better is an aftermarket shifter? Does the stock shifter feel any better with the ws6store short stick?

thanks

i have drivin a ws6 with the stock shifter and don't like it. i have a b&m ripper shifter. it's short throw and really stiff. hard to get use to it at first but i love it now.

I went from the worst shifter I've ever felt (my stock z28 shifter) to the absolute most amazing shift ever, and I swear that is no understatement. I went with a Pro 5.0 from Texas Speed and Performance (sponsor on the right). Its not cheap, but damn is it worth it.

I ran the stock Hurst Short throw for quite a while then switched to a short stick. It is so much better. Took a little getting used to but I really like it now. I had to modify the one I got though. It was just a straight stick. I got the torch out and bent it forward. Before when it was in 2,4,6 I could not even put a finger between the shifter and console. I also made a 1/2 in spacer to move the shifter towards me to center the shifter in the car.

With a short shifter you can not miss a gear (Unless you don't know how to drive)
It's gotta 2-3 shift mechanism makes the 2-3 shift a breeze.
