Default HP gain not what I expected!

Ok background 2003 Z06 with Vararam intake, Kooks LT and High flow cats and X pipe, 160 degree thermo, American Motorsport wheels produced 369 rwhp and 355 rwtq on dyno at Maxwell Dodge.

Added Futural F13-112 Camshaft 230"/232" .595"/.585" 112LSA + 4 degrees advance built in and Patriot Heads LS6 style 59cc chamber, 2.02 intake and 1.57 exhaust, and tuning with no knock and 13.0:1 air/fuel across entire band. HPT Dyno shows 414 rwhp and 385 rwtq.

Net gain 45 rwhp and 30 rwtq. This does not seem right to me and I know that this is a different dyno between the two times. I would have expected this gain from just the cam. Others I have seen show around 450 rwhp and 325 rwtq. Is it just the dyno or is something else really wrong here?

Do you have any idea how well the motor is tuned? You should be higher with your power and torque, especially with 59cc chambers.

0 degrees of knock and 13.0:1 Air Fuel ratio. He was making tuning adjustments after each run on the dyno. More fuel meant less hp, more timing made less hp, not sure he tried less fuel or not. He is a good tuner, he has done lots of different vettes, camaros and other forced induction vechiles.

Often, leaner will make some additional ponies, but 13.0 is pretty safe.

Budget heads make budget power. I found it out firsthand on my setup.

Those heads are killing the potential of your setup. They probably aren't making more than 15 rwhp over your LS6 heads.

That's what I think the problem is, Patriot numbers are all over the place. Some are good numbers while others are not so good.

the reason I choose Patriot was do to all the peoples comments on this forum about how great they are. So I choose the stage II LS6 style with the 59cc chambers.

in my 04 Z06, i made 420 rwhp and 396 rwtq with a F13 on a 112+2 and my heads were never off the block. supporting mods were, lg pros, off road X pipe, S3 TB, pulley, halltech intake, prc springs, and stock exhaust. something is definetly not right.

Man I'm sorry to hear that. You may have had better luck with the real 243 casting they have out now, but I have never seen any combo with these LS6 style heads gain much more than 10-15 rwhp over a stock LS6 head.

Get rid of the cats and throw a pulley on,might not get you where you want to be but would help.

Kooks high flow cats are probably costing no more than 2-3 rwhp.

maybe there is something else going on in the motor that your not seeing. Maybe it needs a basic tune up who knows all these cars are diff. I try not to go by dyno Numbers to much. Just take it to the track and see what it traps. If the car traps 112mph then you know that something isn't right.

all dynos are different. even though both were dynojets, one decimal point difference or different setting between the two can affect your readout dramaticly. take it back to the place you dyno'd the first time and see what that dyno says, then compare the two. always try to stick to the same dyno when you want to see what kind of difference you have made with your mods.

My buddy's '01 Z06 put down 423/408 with just a F-14 cam.

Something is going wrong in your setup. I'm with with Ryan02SS and WS-Sick: I've seen ****-poor results from many budget heads from a few vendors. I bet those heads aren't any better than your stock LS6 heads, regardless of the "magic" flow numbers.
