Default Lug Nut Covers

Well, thanks to the tire shop, I now need 3 lug nut covers. I thought it might be a good time to upgrade to chrome. Anyone have a source? Thanks in advance.

Check on ebay for horsepower1. He can get any SLP stuff you need.

They are about 5 a piece at the GM dealer. I walked away with alot less in my pocket.

Or you could just get it over with for ever and buy a set of chrome McGuard or Gorilla Lifetime Warranty lugs to replace the PITA 2-pc stockers...

I actually liked the contrast of the black lug covers to the factory WS6 polished wheels (especially since my T/A is black) - so when I got my TTII's I also bought Black Chrome lugs so the look would be the same.

You can get Chrome Gorilla Lug Nuts from Thunder Racing for $32 Delivered:

PartNumber: 157-91733
Description: Gorilla Lock & Lug Nuts Pkg, Acorn Bulge, Closed End, 20PK (4 locks, 16 lugs), 12mm x 1.5 right-hand thread

Supposedly the chrome finish is "rust-proof".....but thats total BS. Mine are rusted on the edges. I also drive my car all year 'round, including in winter.

EDIT:
I had incorrectly posted the PartNumber and Description for the LugNuts for my father's fullsize Dodge van. The correct PartNumber and Description are now listed above.

Yep, just change the lugs. WAY cheaper. And the chrome is "rust-proof" until you damage the chrome with a socket. LOL

I always use my special lug socket set that has not only nylon inner liners so as to not damage the lug finish, but also plastic protective coating on the outside to protect the surrounding wheel when removing lugs.

And I NEVER had a problem with any of either McGuard or Gorrila lugs rusting (even when I did use a regular socket to remove).

Now my T/A has never seen rain or snow so the lugs have no chance of rusting - but my daily drivers also use them and I don't have this problem.

Course I don't use an impact wrench on any of my cars (and don't let any shops use them either) nothing but torque wrench with socket has ever touched any lugs that I own.

I went with chrome lugnuts on my 'bird, and I picked mine up at a local Tire shop (Tire Barn) for $20 bucks.

WAIT, I POSTED THE WRONG PART NUMBER FOR THE LUG NUTS.
Those are the ones for my father's fullsize Doge van.

Thses are the correct ones:
PartNumber: 157-91733
Description: Gorilla Lock & Lug Nuts Pkg, Acorn Bulge, Closed End, 20PK (4 locks, 16 lugs), 12mm x 1.5 right-hand thread

NOTE:
I also corrected my above post!

Ebay. Got mine for ~$20 for 25 of them shipped. These were the plastic ones with a chrome covering. I'd buy some extras- the reason I needed new ones was because the old ones fell apart and were a pain in the *** to get off of the lugnut.

The package I posted has locking lug nuts.
16 regular lug nuts and 4 locking lug nuts (1 for each wheel).

sorry vip, didn't know they came with locking ones. 32 bucks is better than the 48 i paid for the cheap plastic ones.

but locking lug nuts have a different unique design that fits into it's designated socket. so wouldn'y you notice a different lug nut on each tire??

The McGard ones look different becuase the key is in the "Face"/top.

The Gorilla locks look almost the same as their other lug nust because the key works like the stock wheel lock in that the sides are splined instead of flat. The face of the locks look the same as the other lugs. So if you have them in the stock wheels with the deep lug nut holes you can't tell they are locks until you get up close and look at the sides of the lugs.

See the pictures for details:

regular (look at the acorn bulge one)

Here is what the face/top looks like for both:
(look at laying down lug nut on bottom right)
