neither, way too many miles! id say try to save up a little more and get a car with lower miles. if i had to choose id take the lt1.

I voted LS1, there are plenty of guys here w/those kind of miles and doing fine. I have 137k on mine and its got bolt ons, its cammed and stalled. A bout a year ago there was a guy with 200k on his 99 Z28 and Patman was also talking about a vette that had over 300k on it. With the right maintenence the car will last a long time. Either one. Now if you can wait and save up more for a lower milage one, do that, if not, then get the 120k LS1.

Id go with the cleaner one of the two. Drive them both. What one do you like better? As far as color and tranny..

^^ thats how i started feeling after i bought mine....other day ripped up some guy in a LS1 camaro auto from a 40 punch had a decent straight away but we found a pretty good long curve we both stayed full into it through it i was way out ahead when the turn started.. mine is lowered (prokit) on 17x11 rear 17x9.5 zr-1s i i was in the outside lane.. anyway i stay in my lane and i look in my mirror and was like where the hell was he (4 lane highway with a center turn lane), guy riding with me says hes in oncoming traffic lanes trying to catch me.. about the end of the turn hes back up beside me and we hit another straight-away and he starts to walk on me, but from the punch and the way he caught up to me i felt pretty good, he would have caught me eventually but the fact that i just killed him from the start and he was across 3 lanes of traffic in the turn to catch me i thought it was a pretty good one we started at around 40 and he didnt catch me until almost 100.... we stopped and talked later on that day fellow service-man that had just gotten back from the desert, and he had just gotten it, cool guy

I've had both, and I just bought an 85k LT1, I voted LS1. I think that even though the LS1 has higher mileage it's had less time for prev. owners to mistreat it.

i voted LS1. But i also agree that u should wait a little longer, and save up for a LS1 with a little less miles.

but in the long run it doesnt matter what people here think. It's all about which car YOU like more.

Not sure I understand this logic since there's more driving time on the 120k mile car.

Wait 1 more year and save some $$ and you can pick up one with 50-60K on the clock.

LS1 are the moter to have but the LT1 was a bad *** moter I had a 97 Z28 and when a little under $1,000 i hung with a 2002 ss no nos but over all the LS1 is the way to go but with those miles I would go with the LT1

I would buy the LS1.

I own one of each, I've worked on both extensively, I will choose the LS1 anyday.

I stood behind the LT1 for years and never accepted the LS1 compared the 1st and 2nd gen small-blocks. I was dead set on how an LT1 could beat the LS with a few mods. Then a co-worker gave me a ride in his bone stock 1999 WS6. I was floored at how that thing ran up to redline in every gear. I knew I would have lost bad if we raced. Then one day I raced my (every bolt-on mod including 1.6 roller rockers) LT1 against a girl in a bone stock 1998 WS6 and was handed my ***. I lost by 2 cars at 80mph and she was starting to pull on me faster at that point.

After moving to Atlanta 3 years ago I was "blessed" with getting a deal on my 2002 Firehawk, I now have a complete comparison of the two types of cars. I will never turn a wrench again on an LT1 unless it's to repair it. The LS1 is head and shoulders above it's older brother mod for mod and soooo much easier to work on.

I'd save a lil' more and get an 80k LS1 to start with, you will be glad for the wait. Trust me.
