Arrow 4:10s and what stall???

Ok i searched and looked for what size verter i would like with 4:10s but didnt find much so i thought i would ask. The car isnt going to be street driven much and if it is it will be on weekends so im not worried about gas milage or streetability. Would a yank 3800 and 4:10s be good on the strip or would the stall be to much? By the way i need a nitrous verter ill be putting plenty of spray to it (250 shot).

If drivability isnt an issue I would go with 4000+ stall. A 3800 is something that I would run in a DD car, but the higher the stall the better, especially with those gears. Are you going to run a cam too? Call up Yank and have him recommend you a converter for your setup. I would trust anything they say.

I used a 4400/4.11 combo with a N/A H/C motor that worked well but since your spaying it, that wouldn't work. I'm no nitrous expert but a 3800/3.73 combo would probably be a better route in your situation. Good luck!

Its a forged heads and cam motor with a 250 shot. I have plenty of cam i just need some gears and a verter to get out of the stock flat spot and into the power band faster.

with a 250 shot i'd go no larger than 3600 on the converter, especially with those gears.

if you sprayed that thing off the line with a 4k stall it would act like a 5k stall on your 250 shot. not something you really want when you've (probably) already passed your tq peak by a few hundred rpm..

Thanx for that advice! so you think a 3600 with the 4:10s would be good? And does anyone know what gear i would be in if lets say im running 11.0's? Just threw that number in so if anyone has a close setup to what im trying to do might be able to help out. Im hoping to be at the top of 3rd gear going threw the traps.

What size tires?

For example, if you cross the traps at 6800 rpm on a 26" tire with 4.10's, you would be at a 128 mph.

If you cross the traps at 6800 rpm on a 28" tire with 4.10's, you would be at a 138 mph.

BTW, you want to be in 3rd when going through the traps.

I have 28" tall slicks right now. So everyone says a 3600 stall right, im just wanting the most stall i can get without over doing it with the 4:10s.

What RPM does your torque peak at on the dyno now? 3400-3600 stall is a pretty safe bet with a 250 shot, N/A will not be as great though. I used to run, and highly recomend, the Yank PY3400E or PY3600E. Works exellent with nitrous.

Havent even dyno tuned the new motor yet but am hoping for around 440+rwhp and with a 250 shot somewere close or around 700rwhp, soo do u think that stall will hold that kind of power?
