At what temp do(are) the lt1's suppose to run at driving around town?My 95 runs between 180 210 drivin around town but on the highway its always at 200-210 is this normal?What are youguys seeing?

yah im seeing the first 1/4 mark so thats 180 and then at most it just reaches the middle mark so thats around 210 also. So same as me unless we both got problems. But considering the thermostat is 180 and the cars hovers around there then its most likely running good.

ive had 2 95 t/a's and both ran at this temp. unless you switch thermostats or fan temp cut on itll be like that. but i would recommend the 160 degree thermostat and lower the fan temp

200-210 seems to high for the highway... I think it's something like above 40 mph and your fans wont come on anyway because there's so much airflow that it's not necessary, I've had LS1s in the past, this is my first LT1, it runs 180 on the highway but gets too hot when sitting in traffic idling (like 230+)... this is a new to me car and it needs a coolant flush and I've got to check the fans... I think 210 is too hot for driving on the highway.

Never goes above 195 for me, cause I set the fans to turn on earlier.

230+ idling is normal unless you have changed the fan temp settings.

Thanks for the replies, didn't think it was excessively hot etc because its in the middle of the gauge but?I figured as long as it didn't go above 210 on the move wouldn't hurt it.hope im right hehhe

yeah, long as thats your maximum you should be alright. mine is usually at around 185, goes a bit higher sometimes and reaches 200 or so at most. but i dont think 210 is too bad; is your radiator functioning well? flushed recently etc?

yeah, coolants good radiators good and all looks well.Sometimes the car stays at 185-190 but sometimes it goes to 200-210 same conditions-weard.I should probly bleed system check for air in there but I dont think thats the problem. When you stay at 1500 revs on the highway it creeks up to 200 and stays there..gets any worse investigations are in order.

Mine usually sits at around the 1/4 mark on the gauge which is about 160*. (93s start their gauge at 100*) It gets as high as maybe 190* in the summer with the A/C on and parked.

I've got newer coolant, redline water wetter, a 160* T-stat, and I jumpered my fans to run all the time when the ignition is switched on. 107k miles.

the point nobody has made yet is these gauges are for ****. Check the temp with a datalogger Tech I/II whatever. Your gauge might say 210, but it may be 190, it may be 225!

160-175 its usually dead on right here unless its 90+ degrees and the a/c is on in traffic then it will get close to the next mark.
