Default 2 Series Gear whine?

I am looking at gears.
Im pretty educated on the subject, but havent rode in many A4's with aftermarket gears.

Will an aftermarket 2 series gear whine, or be loud?
Even with a nice install kit?

Im thinking 3.73's, or 3.42's.

BUMP. I'd like to know the same thing. I'm looking for a set of 3.73s for my factory 2 series carrier 10bolt. I've heard the noise is pretty bad. It shouldn't be louder than a TRex thru open LT headers though should it??

It depends on the installer and their attention to detail.

A 2 series is not any more susceptible to whine than any other gear and/or its series.

not to steal the thread...but how hard is it to find gears for 2 series...how much are they??? or is it better to buy a 3.42 rear end for 225?

Its as hard as searching Ebay or a sponsors website =)
They will be 200+ from a sponsor and 100-150 on ebay. Honestly, I'd rather spend 50 more and have the peace of mind that I got what I paid for.
