Default Your thoughts...

I have a 12" dual friction locally built clutch in my T/A, it's been in there for almost 6 months with no problems. In the past few weeks things have gotten a little strange...1) The car is hard as hell to get in gear, unless the engine is off. 2) When I do drive down the road the shifts are very notchy feeling. 3) When I was at the track a few weeks ago I went to raise the RPM's for launch and the car tried to move forward a little bit. I have tried to do a little searching but due to a death in the family I haven't had much time to sit hear at the computer. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance.

Classic poor clutch release symptoms. I'ld look at the release system.

The same thing happened to me. I replaced the clutch and fixed the problem.

You did clutch replacement, and the other guy says clutch release. Anyone else?

It was built by a old guy in KY, calls his shop KY Clutch. It's a 12" dual friction piece with a Valeo pp from a 454 truck. I messed with it a little Tuesday night, when I drive it isn't slipping at all, as far as I can tell. It's just a PITA to get in 1st an R.
